People around the world supporting Agent Orange victims in Vietnam
August 10th 2024, marks the 63rd anniversary of the Agent Orange and Dioxin disaster in Vietnam (August 10th, 1961 - August 10th, 2024). Over the past 60 years, many people around the world have carried out meaningful activities to help Agent Orange and Dioxin victims in Vietnam overcome the difficulties of life.
During break time at the Vietnam Friendship Village in Hanoi, where hundreds of veterans and Agent Orange and Dioxin victims are cared for, the village is filled with the pure and cheerful laughter of children. The children are happy and joyful to be able to play and sing with foreign youth who are volunteering in the village. This special village is a place where foreign delegations often visit to learn about the realities of the Vietnamese people who have suffered from Agent Orange and Dioxin. They also come to deliver gifts and do volunteer work.

Over the past years, people from around the world, individual donors, and foreign social activists, especially American veterans who fought in the Vietnam War, have shown warm interest and support not only for the Friendship Village but also for other Agent Orange victim protection and treatment centers in various regions of Vietnam. Thanks to this, various programs such as health care programs, rehabilitation treatment, social integration education, vocational training, job creation, and livelihood support for the victims are being implemented effectively.
The international community has been sending warm support to the victims through their struggle to regain their legitimate rights. A representative example is the lawsuit filed by many people in solidarity with Vietnamese living in France, Trần Tố Nga, against the companies that produced or sold Agent Orange and dioxin. French lawyers Bertrand Repolt and William Bourdon have stepped forward to support this lawsuit. And hundreds of French people have joined various movements to support Tran To Nga's actions. The international community's material and spiritual support for the victims of Agent Orange in Vietnam is based on a humanitarian spirit, transcending borders and showing the warm heart of the international community towards the Vietnamese victims.
