On the morning of August 10, at Đầm Sen Cultural Park in Ho Chi Minh City – the largest city in southern Vietnam – the 2025 Walk Campaign for Agent Orange Victims took place with the participation of more than 5,000 citizens. The event was organized to commemorate the 64th anniversary of the Agent Orange/Dioxin disaster in Vietnam (August 10, 1961 – August 10, 2025).
The campaign was attended by former State President Nguyễn Minh Triết, former Vice State President Trương Mỹ Hoa, and Mrs. Trần Tố Nga – a French-Vietnamese Agent Orange victim who has devoted more than one-third of her life to the fight for justice at international courts. In addition, leaders of the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, representatives from embassies and consulates, diplomatic missions, as well as NGOs from South Korea, France, and the United States also joined the event.
During the event, the organizers presented gifts to 20 Agent Orange/dioxin victims and wheelchairs to 5 others. Many organizations and individuals also contributed donations to the Ho Chi Minh City Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims Fund. According to the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, during the war, the U.S. military used Agent Orange/dioxin, exposing 4.8 million Vietnamese people. Since 1975, about 1 million people have died due to the consequences of this toxic chemical.
