On the morning of July 28, 2025, Mr. Kim Dae Jong – Chairman of International Agent Orange Foundation Co., Ltd., and concurrently Chairman of HOAVAVA – led a delegation to visit and work with the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) Central Committee in Hanoi.

The meeting took place in a warm and open atmosphere, with the participation of HOAVAVA members, leaders of the VAVA Central Committee, and representatives from Korean enterprises based in Ho Chi Minh City (including the former Binh Duong area).

At the beginning of the program, both sides shared sincere insights into their respective activities. A video highlighting HOAVAVA’s recent signature programs was shown, offering attendees a clearer picture of the humanitarian efforts spearheaded by Mr. Kim Dae Jong and the HOAVAVA organization in building Korea–Vietnam community engagement.

The VAVA Central Committee provided an overview of the current situation of Agent Orange/dioxin victims in Vietnam and shared the many challenges and areas in need of international cooperation and support.

Within the framework of the program, the two sides also discussed concrete directions for future collaboration. These include establishing communication channels, a joint coordination mechanism to build and implement practical projects, providing both material and emotional support to victims in local areas, organizing fundraising initiatives among the Korean community in Vietnam, and promoting accurate and human-centered communication regarding the consequences of Agent Orange.

Representatives of participating Korean businesses expressed deep empathy for the suffering endured by the victims of Agent Orange in Vietnam. Many enterprises showed interest in learning more in order to engage in long-term partnerships with VAVA and HOAVAVA on community-focused projects.

Notably, during this visit, Mr. Ha Tae Hyun – Chairman of Young Jin Vietnam–Korea Co., Ltd. and also Chairman of the Korean Business Association in Binh Duong – presented a cash donation of 100,000,000 VND to support care and assistance efforts for the victims of Agent Orange/dioxin in Vietnam. In addition, Mr. Jung Kwan Ho, Director of Naru Vina Co., Ltd., donated a batch of pharmaceuticals valued at approximately 250,000,000 VND.

This visit was not only an act of compassion but also an opportunity to deepen the bonds between the Korean business community in Vietnam and the Vietnamese VAVA organization. The delegation also shared a friendly lunch with nearly 40 staff and officials of the VAVA Central Office, fostering meaningful connection and interaction between both sides.

At the conclusion of the program, representatives of the VAVA Central Committee expressed heartfelt appreciation for the delegation’s kindness, noting that this was truly a great source of encouragement for both the victims of Agent Orange and the VAVA organization in Vietnam.

HOAVAVA sincerely thanks the Korean businesses and individuals for their trust and companionship, and deeply values the opportunity to connect with the VAVA Central Committee – those who tirelessly dedicate themselves to the community of Agent Orange victims in Vietnam.

This meeting stands as a meaningful testament to HOAVAVA’s efforts to build bridges. Under the compassionate leadership of Chairman Kim Dae Jong, who has devoted over 30 years to supporting Vietnamese victims, HOAVAVA continues to serve as a conduit for lasting and impactful humanitarian engagement.
We believe that this meeting marks the beginning of more profound and compassionate partnerships in the future.
